St Helens & District Group

Unfortunately we have had to cancel our meetings on the 1st April & 6th May,

because of the Coronavirus. We hope to be able to hold our June meeting, but it`s looking a bit like we might not be able to, but please check nearer the time,

by visiting our website or by phoning us, see details below.

To answer any questions you may have about the Coronavirus and Diabetes

generally,  go to the main Diabetes UK website at  Diabetes.org.uk

We hope that the next meeting of the St Helens & District Group of Diabetes UK will be able to be held on Wednesday 3rd June 2020 at 7.30pm in St Helens United Reformed Church, King St, WA10 2JZ. The Church is next to Windle Pilkington Hall. Our speaker will be Prof Kevin Hardy, who will be talking to us on the following:-

Let`s talk about new treatments for Type 1 & Type 2 Diabetes

Prof Kevin Hardy is Head of Undergraduate Medicine at Edge Hill University, and he is also Consultant Physician & Diabetologist at St Helens & Knowsley Hospitals Trust. This will be his 25th year of speaking at our meetings, so we really hope this meeting will be able to go ahead. Anyone with an interest in diabetes is welcome to attend, admission is free and refreshments are available after the meeting. We also have a large selection of diabetes leaflets available. We would particularly like to welcome anyone who has been recently diagnosed with diabetes and has not been to a meeting before. We are a very friendly group and you may be assured of a warm welcome.
